At home remove pet stain and odor. It can be easy if you follow the following steps.

Dry Stain

Things can get tricky when the urine has already dried, leaving you with a pet stain. It is recommended to make the problem area wet again, and start the wet pet stain process.

There are other options for cleaning up a dry pet stain. You can rent a wet vac for deep stains or you can use pet odor neutralizer. Make sure the neutralizer is safe for your pet and your carpet. Regular carpet stain removers can work as efficiently as a pet stain remover. You can also make your own pet stain remover with natural cleaning products such as baking soda and vinegar. However, there are problems with using chemicals like vinegar. The vinegar won’t completely cover up the urine smell. Your pet can be attracted back to that spot and re-mark their territory. You need a pet stain remover that will neutralize the odor.

Wet Pet Stain

Before you break out the pet stain remover, check to see if the spot on the carpet is still wet. If your pet has recently soiled your carpet, you’ll want to use a blotting method to clean the problem area. You can use paper towel or newspaper to blot the area. A wet paper towel will work well to absorb the urine. You will want to remove as much of the fresh urine as you can as it’ll make it easier to remove the odor. Layer newspaper and paper towel on top of the stain. Stack newspaper underneath the stain if possible. Apply pressure to the paper towel and newspaper by standing on it or using a heavy object, such as a thick book. This process should be repeated until the problem area is barely wet.

After the area is barely wet, rinse it with clean water. Remove the remaining water by blotting with a paper towel. You can also use a wet/dry vac.
